Description:
The equipment is used to study the working processes of diesel engines (with loading devices) in laboratory work carried out at the project university.
 
1. Requirement: Trolley-mounted, mobile engine test bed with benchtop instrumentation for
investigation into the fundamental features of internal combustion engines.
 
2. Expected learning outcomes: The apparatus should be capable of investigations into the performances and characteristics of a four-stroke diesel engine including:
a. Torque, speed and power relationship
b. Break mean effective pressure
c. Engine performance curve
d. Air and fuel consumption
e. Volumetric and thermal efficiencies
 
3. Components to be included in the apparatus: The apparatus should be equipped with the following key components for the proper functioning to achieve the above learning outcomes. Further, the supplier should indicate the requirement of any other component/ equipment for the functioning of the apparatus which is not mentioned in this specification sheet.
a. Trolly-mounted, mobile engine test bed
b. Four-stroke, electric start diesel engine
c. Manual volumetric fuel gauge
d. Automatic data acquisition hardware, software and accessories
 
3.1. Specifications of trolly-mounted engine test bed
